Error

Premiere on 24 August 2024

The world premiere of collaboration ERROR between GogolFest/Dakh Theatre (Ukraine) and Gema Citra Nusantara (Indonesia) was presented on the Djakarta Theatre Art Platform. The premiere was held on August 24 on the Independence Day of Ukraine in the cultural centre Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta.

Directed by Vladyslav Troitskyi, the performance showed the intersection of traditional culture of two countries within the technological progress. By referring to the elements of water, wind and fire as the eternal rulers of the Earth, the team aimed to re-establish the lost human connection with natu in times of uncertainty.

‘We were the first to bring Ukrainian theatre to Indonesia. War is one of the greatest dangers facing the whole world. So is the concept of freedom. Culture is what opens doors, overcomes distances and breaks down walls between nations. And we will not stop there,’ Vladyslav Troitskyi,
Ukrainian theatre producer, director, founder of the Dakh Theatre.
Multi-media performance believes in finding shared values across nations.

While ERROR confronts humanity’s current concerns, it also looks to the future and presents resistance through art – exploring universal meanings that transcend geographical boundaries.

The collaboration was made possible thanks to the support of the Ukrainian Institute.
