Call for Application for ETC Scholarship: Transmission Programme – TNB Festival
At the heart of the TNB Festival in France, the TRANSMISSION programme is an opportunity to meet, connect and train, dedicated to young French and foreign artists who are still undergoing training or starting their professional career.
This programme is made up of 2 different sessions, both including multidisciplinary workshops, shows and privileged gatherings with the Festival’s artists.
As part of our upcoming ETC Scholarship scheme, ETC offers two grants of 700 euros to cover travel and accommodation expenses. The application process is detailed here.

ETC Next Theatre Generation: Fast Forward Festival Forum
As part of ETC's upcoming Next Theatre Generation programme, colleagues at Fast Forward Festival, at Staatsschauspiel Dresden, have prepared a call for 10 people to participate in the next Forum from 14 – 17 November 2024.

European Theatre Academy 2024
The 10th edition of the annual ETC European Theatre Academy takes place during the Festival d’Avignon in France, from Friday 28 June to Tuesday 02 July 2024.
It offers masterclasses and the opportunity to work on own projects with mentors, focusing on the different aspects of curating and managing international theatre collaborations, as well as networking opportunities with other young theatre professionals.

The Staff Exchange Programme offers all technical, administrative and artistic personnel from Member Theatres the opportunity to exchange know-how and techniques at an ETC Member Theatre in another European country for a period of up to four weeks.

One ETC Development Grant available
Apply for funding for collaboration projects between 3 ETC Member Theatres.
The ETC Development Grants are a new scheme to support innovative international co-creations of new dramatic narratives.
ETC offers 3 development grants per season to ETC Member theatres working artistically with at least two partner theatres. This means 3 ETC theatres can collectively apply for up to 5000 EUR funding for any new artistic collaboration they make together.

Performance Exchange Grants
The Performance Exchange Programme is available to ETC Member Theatres wishing to invite a guest performance from another ETC Member Theatre.
This artistic mobility gives a new and exciting cultural experience to the theatre audience and provides ETC Member Theatres with an interesting opportunity for personal and professional encounters. Touring performances will be showcased on ETC’s website for further international promotion.
The grants awarded (up to EUR 2000) can cover travel costs for the show as well as costs for their multilingual presentation (eg. translation, surtitling...).
The grants are awarded based on the decisions of the ETC Board. Applications are to be completed jointly by the sending theatre and receiving theatre.

Apply for Translation Grants - New European Drama
Following two rounds in the seasons 2020/2021 and 2021/22, ETC will support two new European contemporary drama texts and their international trajectory in the season 2022/2023 by circulating them within its membership and financially participating to their translation into English, thus expanding its pool of interesting contemporary texts from all over Europe.
Interested ETC Member Theatres are asked to apply with one text of a contemporary author they work with and they see as relevant for international audiences.
The applying theatres will receive a grant (up to €1,500) for translation into English of the two plays which will be selected this season. The ETC theatres that have proposed the selected plays will be in charge of organising their translation into English.
The selected plays will also be integrated in the programme of the upcoming Spring ETC International Theatre Conference (11-14 May 2023 in Opole/Poland) in the form of participatory readings by the conference participants.

NEW ROUND: ETC Development Grants
Apply for funding for collaboration projects between 3 ETC Member Theatres.
The ETC Development Grants are a scheme to support innovative international co-creations of new dramatic narratives.
ETC offers 3 development grants per season to ETC Member theatres working artistically with at least two partner theatres. This means 3 ETC theatres can collectively apply for up to 5000 EUR funding for any new artistic collaboration they make together.
The 3 ETC theatres applying for an ETC Development Grant of up to 5000 EUR can individually decide how to share and use the financial support. Eligible costs are travel costs supporting the international collaboration, artist fees, production, software- or hardware costs, etc.

Join the ETC Green Theatre Committee
ETC’s Green Theatre Committee will resume its work with a first meeting end of October. Headed by ETC’s newly appointed sustainability advisor Michaela Rýgrová, the committee thrives to put in place ETC’s strategic plan to reach the objectives set out in the ETC Sustainable Action Code for the network and theatres to become climate neutral by 2030.

Participate in the ETC Study on Digital Theatre – Digital Strategies and Business Models in European Theatre
The study will analyse artistic production, digital dissemination, strategies and digital business models in ETC member theatres.
The study has been developed in partnership with the Akademie für Theater und Digitalitat in Dortmund/Germany, and digital theatre researcher Katie Hawthorne.

Apply to join second round of Ki Culture Sustainability Training Programme
ETC has continued its partnership with Ki Culture to extend the offer of inclusion in the next round of the Ki Culture Sustainability Training Programme to ETC Member Theatres.
This follows the success of the pilot programme, which ran from January - April 2022.
