In times where all live performing arts have suddenly been pushed into the virtual space, new approaches and solutions to create valuable digital theatre experiences become more relevant than ever.
This webinar will focus on creating a 'deep space' for theatre, discussing both artistic opportunities and the technical realisation. Creative coder Nils Corte and dramaturge Roman Senkl will look into artistic examples, introduce a basic scene creation and projection setup, and discuss advantages and disadvantages of different development environments. They will also give an introduction to state of the art motion tracking systems and how to implement points of interest in a room.
The webinar, hosted by our partners from the Academy for Theatre and Digitality (Dortmund, Germany), gives a glimpse of what would have been introduced during a live digital theatre workshop at Kote Marjanishvili State Drama Theatre (Tbilisi, Georgia) in April. It aims to begin a joint discussion around the subject of immersive interaction which will continue in the autumn.
