At Teatro Gobetti, from January 7 to 19, 2025, Neil LaBute’s The Shape of Things will be staged under the direction of Marta Cortellazzo Wiel. The young director brings this play to life to explore human relationships, their fragility, and the manipulative dynamics they may endure.
The story follows a young artist who forcefully enters the lives of three friends, upending long-standing relationships and reshaping their very identities. The sharp dialogue among the four protagonists—portrayed by Christian di Filippo, Celeste Gugliandolo, Marcello Spinetta, and Beatrice Vecchione—conceals a growing undercurrent of silent violence and mounting psychological tension. As the narrative unfolds, these tensions escalate, ultimately leading to a climactic revelation of the wreckage left behind by their struggles.

At Fonderie Limone Moncalieri, from January 14 to 26, 2025, Old Testament: Trilogy of the Books will premiere under the direction of Gabriele Vacis.
In the 3rd century BCE, during the reign of Ptolemy II, a group of 72 Jewish scholars undertook the monumental task of translating the Pentateuch—the first five books of the Bible (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy)—into Greek. This groundbreaking endeavour marked a shift, relegating myth, which had previously served as the primary tool for explaining the origins and order of the world, to the realm of fantasy.
The language of the Old Testament, steeped in profound symbolism and layered meanings, challenges readers to understand not only its religious messages but also the historical and cultural contexts in which these texts were written. Gabriele Vacis and the PoEM ensemble confront these themes, striving to recapture the poetry and depth of these ancient texts. Through a contemporary lens, they aim to bridge the gap between past and present, breathing new life into words that, despite their age, continue to resonate powerfully in today’s world.
