Hungarian director Kriszta Székely, an associate artist of the Teatro Stabile di Torino, directs Valerio Binasco, Laura Curino, Alice Fazzi, Mariangela Granelli, Simone Luglio, and Marcello Spinetta in Ibsen’s late masterpiece, written in 1892 at the peak of the Norwegian playwright’s career, during a time of deep reflection on the relationship between artistic creation and life.
Solness, a wealthy and successful architect jealous of younger rivals, is a man who longs to halt the relentless passage of time and find new happiness through the young Hilde, only to fall victim to his own ambition and guilt. This adaptation by Ármin Szabó-Székely brings to light themes such as generational conflict, misogyny, male domination, nostalgia for the past, the decline of physical strength, and the desire to reclaim eternal youth.

Fonderie Limone Moncalieri | May 17 – 18, 2025 | National Premiere
SUSPENDED CHORUS
concept, direction, choreography, and dance by Silvia Gribaudi
Produced by Associazione Culturale Zebra, Teatro Stabile di Torino – National Theatre
in collaboration with La Corte Ospitale, Rum för Dans, Le Gymnase CDCN – Roubaix

Silvia Gribaudi, the Teatro Stabile di Torino’s new associate artist, presents a solo performance born from a desire to renew her dialogue with the audience and reflect on how we perceive the bodies of others—and how we might radically shift our gaze. Through imagery and movement, the choreographer/performer pushes her fifty-year-old body to its limits to reveal a dynamic flow that transcends age-related change.
Inspired by dance pioneers such as Isadora Duncan, Anna Pavlova, and Pina Bausch, this project explores the desires that drive our bodies, inviting the audience to become a witnessing chorus and to share gestures and dreams.

APPEAL TO EUROPE
from Stefan Zweig
dramaturgy by Diego Pleuteri
direction by Micol Jalla
Teatro Stabile di Torino – National Theatre
in collaboration with Fondazione Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani Onlus

Stefan Zweig—Austrian writer, journalist, playwright, and poet, later naturalized British—authored four famous speeches on Europe, which inspired playwright Diego Pleuteri to create this theatrical adaptation, directed by Micol Jalla. Zweig offered a profound and moving vision of a united Europe rooted in Humanism and culture. Written on the eve of World War II, during a time of deep crisis across the continent, these texts still resonate powerfully today.
This production invites reflection and renewed energy for those seeking to move beyond the current stalemate in the European integration project. The work was developed within the framework of Bad Ischl – European Capital of Culture 2024.
