'Life is Wonderful' is based on Nikolay Erdman's play 'The Suicide' which was banned by the Soviet authorities for 60 years. While this performance holds a mirror up to the 20th century, it also suggests hope for the triumph of miracles, imagination, and truth over harsh reality.
After a midnight scandal reaching the boundaries of cheerful absurdity, the main character Podsekalnikov decides to commit suicide. The reasons are unemployment, unfulfilled dreams, boredom with everyday life and others...
But when he decides to leave this world, a mob of people appear to convince him to make sense of his impending death. What follows is an avalanche of fun, insanity and a completely unexpected ending.
