On 7 May 2019, the Kyiv Academic "Moloddy" Theatre, directed by Andriy Bilous was awarded the status of National Theatre. Diana Popova, Director of the Department of Culture at Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), emphasised how this new status is a real symbol of perseverance, rewarding the commitment of many people. People who believed in themselves and in the power of theatre. It is also a beautiful tribute to the theatre Director, Les Kurbas, who founded the "Molodyy" Theatre in 1917.
This new status will help the Kyiv National Academic Molodyy Theatre to continue its important work within the European and international cultural landscape and to develop future cooperation projects.
