"I’m Nowhere / Desvanecimiento", based on the concept and directed by Norbert Rakowski, is a Polish-Spanish co-production in collaboration with Teatros del Canal in Madrid and the International Divine Comedy Festival in Krakow.
The subject of the play, which has been swept under the carpet in Poland, is euthanasia, legalised in several European countries, including Spain. The creators explore various aspects of the choice between life and death, asking themselves and the audience boundary questions. We live in a civilisation that wants to prolong human life at all costs. Are we sure this is necessary? Who should decide on our lives? The law? Medical advances? The courts? The church? We ourselves? Are we responsible enough to make irreversible decisions?
Part of the performance is based on the world pre-premiere text by Ivan Vyrypayev entitled „Znikanie” (eng. „Disappearance”).
