Hojotoho! Hojotoho! Heiaha! is a play by Julien Chavaz and Bastian Lomsché (very, very) freely adapted from Richard Wagner.
A group of strangers meet in a hotel lobby in the provinces. They are united by a common longing: a few days of relaxation from professional quarrels, private quarrels and the general weariness of life. The rooms are not yet ready for occupancy, something seems to have gone wrong. A few hours and several existential events later, still stuck in the lobby, they turn to art. Tenderly at first, in harmony; soon more courageous, striving for higher things, before they, intoxicated by their own actions, burst into megalomania and perform Wagner's "Walküre".
With the humoresque Hojotoho! Hojotoho! Heiaha! general director Julien Chavaz continues his work that crosses the boundaries between music, drama and dance, this time at the Schauspielhaus.
