Exclusive Opportunity: Join the ETC Theatre Green Book Webinars

Join us on 14 September on our path to drive sustainable change for theatre

ETC presents an exclusive opportunity to all Member Theatres to get involved in the ETC Theatre Green Book.

Join us in our commitment to drive change for theatre to advance a more sustainable and diverse practice, with an emphasis on technical and leadership skills.

Who is this for?

All ETC Member Theatres are invited to join. Please send at least one delegate of your organisation to not miss this very important new ETC initiative that aims to set new standards across European theatres.

The ETC Theatre Green Book (ETC TGB) is a new tool to make theatre activity sustainable - across productions, buildings and operations. It is currently in development and will be launched in 2024.

The ETC TGB is a collaboration between ETC and Renew Culture, the organisation behind the successful 'Theatre Green Book'. For the first time, this version will include a self-certification system, which will make visible when a theatre has reached baseline, intermediate, or eventually advanced level of sustainability.

A group of 10 ETC theatres across Europe (the ETC TGB Focus Group) is trialling the new tool in the 2023/24 season to reach baseline standard. Their reflections will be used to improve ETC TGB before its launch to the wider sector in the Summer 2024.

Join the TGB experts Paddy Dillon and Lisa Burger in the upcoming webinars to get hands-on insights that you can test and apply, and become part of the ETC sustainability group:

  • Thursday 14 September 2023 - 11:00-12:00 (CEST): How to use the measurement tool for productions
  • Thursday 5 October 2023 - 11:00-12:00 (CEST): How to do a basic home survey of your building
  • Tuesday 31 October 2023 - 11:00-12:00 (CEST): How to form a Green Team and get started on sustainable operations

We strongly recommend joining all three webinars. Theatres who commit to all three webinars will be invited to join the 'ETC Sustainable Theatres Group', the group of theatres at the forefront of integrating the ETC Theatre Green Book in their work.
