Teatro do Noroeste - Centro Dramático de Viana presents Cartas de Viana: Guerra Junqueiro, a staged reading directed by Ricardo Simões, as part of the commemorations of the centenary of Guerra Junqueiro's death, on 23 and 24 February, in the Experimental Room of the Teatro Municipal Sá de Miranda.
In Viana do Castelo, Abílio Manuel Guerra Junqueiro married, lived and worked between 1879 and 1890; he was Secretary General of the Civil Government of Viana do Castelo; he wrote A Lágrima; A Moleirinha; O Caçador Simão; he corresponded with Eça de Queiroz and Ramalho Ortigão; he was friends with Luis Augusto de Oliveira and António Feijó.
