The State Small Theatre of Vilnius was founded in 1990, the same year and month as the independent Republic of Lithuania was restored.
It is the youngest Lithuanian State theatre, with three generations of one theatre school creating, making it unique.
The repertoire includes works from stage directors renowned in Europe like Tomi Janežič, Rimas Tuminas, works by young theatre directors like Gabrielė Tuminaitė, Kirilas Glušajevas, Uršulė Bartoševičiūtė, Aleksandr Špilevoj and others that are appreciated by critics and audiences alike.
Facing the pandemic, the theatre has established a new platform DramaTest in 2020 opening its spaces for small-scale experimental works by young artists.
The theatre is open for collaborations, joint productions, mutual residency and exchange programmes as well as touring.
