About

Empowering the next generation of talents.

By bringing together long-standing ETC initiatives, we aim to accelerate the entry of emerging theatre professionals into the European theatre landscape.

The programme connects the European Theatre Academy, offering masterclasses at the Festival d’Avignon; the ETC Alumni Network, bringing together former participants in ETC activities; and the Professional Development Programme, featuring webinars, talks, and workshops.

ETC's Next Theatre Generation programme is further strengthened through collaborations with Fast Forward Festival at Staatsschauspiel Dresden (Germany), the TRANSMISSION programme at Théâtre National de Bretagne (TNB) in Rennes (France), and Oulu University of Applied Sciences in Oulu (Finland).

European Theatre Academy

The European Theatre Academy is a four-day seminar of masterclasses and workshops at Festival d'Avignon, on the development and management of international theatre collaborations. It is designed for theatre professionals at the beginning of their careers, with the ambition to grow internationally.

ETC Alumni Network

The ETC Alumni Network includes over 200 artists and theatre-makers who have participated in ETC programmes over the past years, especially the Artists in Residence programme and the European Theatre Academy.

The ETC Alumni Network is a dedicated space for direct exchange between alumni and with ETC, to keep contact, exchange information and opportunities, ask questions and share recommendations.

If you're an ETC Member Theatre, contact us and share your opportunities (offers, open calls...) and we will facilitate its dissemination among the ETC Alumni Network.

The next online meeting will be announced in August 2026.
