About the ETC Theatre Green Book
The ETC Theatre Green Book (ETC TGB) is the international version of the renowned 'Theatre Green Book' initiative. It is a step-by-step guide for European Theatres to reach net zero emissions by 2030.
The ETC TGB is comprised of detailed guidance and practical tools across three areas: Sustainable Productions, Sustainable Operations, and Sustainable Buildings. These resources have been tested extensively by ETC theatres across Europe, from different artistic, funding, and geographic backgrounds.
The ETC Theatre Green Book also includes a new self-certification label to help European Theatres track — and celebrate — their sustainable progress, across four levels: Preliminary, Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced (equivalent to net-zero).
The ETC TGB is the result of a collaboration between ETC, Renew Culture and the ‘Theatre Green Book’ initiative.
